Personal Review of Tom Venuto's Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle

A couple of years ago, I was in my worst shape ever! I was working out hard at the gym and tried to keep my food intake in check, whilst working a fulltime job in an office and a part-time job as a personal fitness training instructor.

Somehow, despite all my efforts I was not making any progress at the gym, and I felt bad about myself and my physical appearance.

I started searching on the Internet for a solution that would fit me. Even at that time, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of books and programs on losing bodyweight and building muscle mass. The problem was, how can you know if a writer is to be trusted, or that his or her program actually works?

In the forums, I kept hearing about this personal trainer/writer named Tom Venuto, who apparently cracked the code on how to lose body fat while maintaining and even enlarging your muscle mass.Get your personal copy of Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle here This made me curious, and I went out looking for his book, Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle.

Tom’s site was simple, and had a lot of customer testimonials, but what clicked with me was his clear-cut approach to losing body fat and building muscle, plus the fact that he developed his method by experimenting on himself. Tom is also a competitive bodybuilder, so experimenting his ideas on his own body made sense.

The sales page took me in, so I went for it and purchased a copy of the Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle e-book.

The Contents Of The BFFM Package

The Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle package is comprised of one main book – Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle – plus six extra bonus reports. Since it is actually quite hard to read a large book on screen, I printed off all the books and put them in a binder (I urge you to do the same. I makes reading the book that much easier!).

The six additional reports deal with the types of food you should and should not eat if you want to stay lean, grading your food choices to help you make better choices, how to measure your body fat percentage at home, and goal setting and self image secrets. Good reports in their own right, and a great addition to the main book’s topics.

How Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle Is Set Up

Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle comes in at a hefty 340 pages of clear and to the point content, with no images whatsoever! The topics Tom Venuto covers in his book are:

Goal Setting Strategies and Motivation

Changing your body composition is as much a mind thing as a diet and exercise thing. When you are able to set reasonable yet powerful goals, your journey will get off at a great start.

Goals setting is an often overlooked aspect of a successful strategy, and I am a prime example of that, Tom provides the tools for setting these goals.

Conventional and Fad  Diets

This part of the book details extensively why conventional diets do not work, which dispels many diet myths you may have heard.

Determining your Body Type and Working with your Personal Needs

Knowing what type of body you have, how your metabolism works, and being able to set up a nutritional and exercise plan to suit your body’s needs and capabilities is elemental to reaching your goals. Tom puts great value on body composition testing, which is the best way to know whether you are on the right track or not.

Calories, Meal Frequency, Foods and Liquids

No book on losing body fat and gaining muscle mass is complete without a discussion on calories, food items and why and when to eat them. The main part of the book is therefore set up around information on meal frequency, macronutrients, good and bad fats and nutritional supplements.

No overpriced supplements are being pushed, you get honest information on what food items and dietary supplements to take to achieve the leanest body possible. I do agree with Tom on the fact that many supplements you see advertised nowadays are more the result of companies creating a demand for their products than that you actually need these supplements.

Cardio Training and Weight Training

Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle stresses the importance of including both cardio training and weight training in your fat loss endeavors. We all know you need cardio training to burn off the fat and increase your endurance, but according to Tom, weight training is as important to achieve permanent fat loss as a great nutritional program and aerobic training.

At the end of the book Tom responds to quite a few questions about weight loss and training, plus he includes sample workouts and nutritional programs.

A few actual customer reviews on Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle I found on the Internet:

Tom Venuto's eBook is fantastic. It's based on very good science, a lot of personal experience and common sense info about diet, exercise and personal motivation.

It will basically teach you everything you need to know about getting into shape and losing fat, including how to calculate calorie requirements, how to eat better, tips for breaking fat-loss plateaus and training advice for adding muscle.

I'm a huge fan of his and his articles and BTFFTM book are fundamental to not only my fitness knowledge, but also my training. I even lost my electronic copy once because my laptop crashed and Tom replaced it with his latest, updated version for free.

I've read burn the fat and feed the muscle by tom venuto and i can tell you that its 100% worth it. there is a ton of useful information in it regardless if you goals are to slim down or to actually be a competition body builder. i highly recommend it to EVERYONE. :)

It definitely works. I've been doing it for 2 years now and have lost over 100 lbs. And I'm even 'bending' the rules!

Honestly, even if you don't plan on going on the 'diet' (although lifestyle change is a more appropriate term) the book itself is so full of good information on nutrition, its a great read. It answers almost every question you could have regarding nutrition and excercise.

The other great thing about it is when you buy it, you get to join the 'Inner Circle' for 1 dollar (for the first 30 days, then 10$ a month after). There are other great articles and the forum is great as well. I highly recommend it.

My Conclusion

When I purchased my copy of Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle, I was as skeptical as most people will be of a book on nutrition and training. I have been involved in the fitness industry for a good number of years, and have seen diet trends and wonder-workouts come and go. Tom’s book is different; it is based on scientific sound nutritional advice and exercise pointers from an experienced athlete.

Tom Venuto

BurnFat Feed The Muscle made me feel better about myself, helped me focus on my fat loss endeavors, kept me on track nutrition-wise, and helped me achieve a better physique than I thought was possible.

There are two things I would have liked to see different in the book:

I would have liked to see a more visual appealing approach to the training part in the form of images. Though that would have been handy for the absolute beginner, it would also have bulked up the book even more.

The other potential issue I see with the book is the types of food Tom Venuto discusses and recommends in the sample diets.Even though these are not food items that are rare, readers in other parts of the world than the US (like Asian readers) will not always have access to the exact same foods. With a little bit of imagination and investigation, though, you will always be able to find types of food in your neck of the woods you can substitute for the food items mentioned.

Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle is a well-organized guide into proper nutrition, exercise and goal setting, and will help you on your way to the body you always wanted.

At a reasonable $ 39.95, you would be hard pressed to find a better nutritional e-guide than Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle anywhere!
